We held our Cost of Living campaign throughout October, with events on each campus giving you money saving tips to help you stretch your student loan.

We held competitions giving you the opportunity to win a heated blanket, a slow cooker and an air fryer. 

We had our ‘Spin the Wheel’ game with great prizes on offer.  Students won gloves, socks and handwarmers.

We held a taste the difference event using branded versus non-branded supermarket items, and quite a lot of students picked the saver items.  There was a lot of pleasantly surprised students who will now swop their items for cheaper versions and save money!  We also went through budgeting your money to make it last. 

We introduced some a new Give It A Go (GIAG) activity, a Bob Ross Paint along, the students who joined us went away with an amazing piece of art work, ready to take pride of place on their wall!

Together with the Careers Team, we held a volunteering Fair in the Chancellor’s Mall.  Lots of amazingly brilliant charities attended showcasing their volunteering opportunities.  

We celebrated Black History Month with an event in the Mall.  We invited local organisations and charities who showcased how fabulous they are to all our students.

It was Spooky Week at the end of October. We had a creepy trick or treat which took students all over the university.  We had cryptic clues dotted around the University, solve the clue and win a prize, don’t solve the clue………who knows?  mwah, mwah, mwah.

We did Give It a Go Halloween make-up in the Chancellor’s Mall and paper pumpkin making.  We decided to make our pumpkins out of paper this year as we are trying to be more sustainable, and they did look really good.  We put on some spooky fun games in the Mall and had lots of small competitions to win tasty sweet treats.  Hook a Duckula was popular, as always.

Toni and Emma continued to train Society Officers, making sure they can run their society safely and within the guidelines.  We have had a great response so far. 

All in all, its been a very busy October, and we love it!
