October 2016 Impact

  • The SU hosts the Student Led Teaching Awards, and nominations opened once again in October.  We are asking you to nominate your best lecturers, supervisors, support staff and course reps at the University of Bolton.  It’s your opportunity to say a big "thank you" to the staff and other students that make this university work, and the extraordinary commitment they show to making this university what it is today.  Click here for more information on the Student Led Teaching Awards.

  • We held 3 Course Rep training days, making sure Course Reps are fully able to fulfil their role with confidence and to the best of their ability.

  • We also want our students to be healthy in mind and body, and with this in mind we put on a Health and Wellbeing Week.  Local and national organisations came to the University and offered a range of support and advice to improve your physical, mental and sexual health.

  • We put on a family Halloween event on Friday 28th October.  Children (and parents) came to the University to participate in the Messy science event, and the SU’s Community Engagement Coordinators painted faces, made spooky spiders and bats and generally had lots of fun.  Everyone from students, staff, parents and children enjoyed the day.

  • Media, Writing and Production students told us the room they had one of their lectures in was too small.  We spoke to the staff concerned and the students were moved to a bigger room.

  • 9 new Societies were set up with the help of the SU.
