A big welcome hello to our new students and a big welcome back to all our returning students!  It’s once again the start of a new academic year at the University of Bolton, and we’ve spent the summer preparing to welcome our new and returning students.   We gave out our usual Welcome Bags to new students filled with freebies and information, we held a fortnight of evening and daytime activities (suitable for all types of students including mature students and students with children) and attended lecture shout-outs where the SU student Engagement Team spoke to every new student, telling you about your SU, who we are and what we do, and how we can support you.  We were at every enrolment session, helping students navigate the system, directing them around the Uni and generally being a friendly face.  We visited Orlando Village to meet up with new students and got to know them by playing games and chatting.

We have been recruiting new Course reps and training will take place next month.  We also have lots of new societies in the pipeline and with the Student Activities Awareness day taking place next month there will be more choice of societies for you to join than ever before.

We are also happy to announce we have a new permanent member of staff joining us – Ben Read.  Ben has taken on the new role of Community and Volunteering Coordinator.  Ben will be coordinating student volunteering and will offer a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved in.

Make the most of your time at the University of Bolton and get involved with your SU or try something new by volunteering.  You won’t regret it!
