We are pleased to report the carpark behind NCME opened and became student only parking which has more than doubled the student parking available.  We have continually lobbied the University for more student parking and are very happy to report that our actions have come to fruition.

Course Rep training is continuing with many of our Course Reps reporting that the training course is helpful, easy to understand, beneficial and Jess is a friendly,  approachable and knowledgeable person.

Danielle continued Society training, hopefully by the end of the month all Society officers will be trained.  Visit Facebook for Society Activities.

The CEC’s hid Pots of Joy in various places around the University.  Students who found them told us they brightened up their day and another said it was a lovely surprise.  We hope you enjoyed finding them.

Nominations opened for the Student Led Teaching Awards.  We have some new categories this year, so please have a look on the website and nominate or use the nomination boxes located on each campus.  Nominations close in March 2019, so get nominating!

We held a Health and Wellbeing week with an emphasis on personal safety and alcohol awareness.  Various outside organisations had stands in the mall giving out information and freebies, chatted to students and encouraged students to take part in fun, yet informative activities.

In partnership with the University Chaplaincy we hosted a Festival of Faiths.  Guests from local community faith organisations (Christian, Hindu and Muslim) came together in the SLZ to educate staff and students about the different faiths and their festivals.  We had the opportunity to sample food, Bollywood dancing, henna painting we had food demonstrations from Urban Outreach, a Sari workshop, a treasure hunt and much more!  It was a fantastic day, staff and students had a great time and it was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the religious diversity of the University of Bolton family.

World Aids Day was marked with a photograph of students holding a red card with the words “we stand together” written on it.   The photograph can be seen on the president’s window.
