We held our first ever Catch Up Café which took place at Queens Specialist Building. We invited Course Reps to feedback on their course and discuss any issues, both positive and constructive, drink tea and eat cake! This feedback will be fed back to the University Senior Management Team. We will be holding more Catch-up Cafes for Course Reps in the future, but if you wish to comment on your course or any University related issue, please click here to complete the online feedback form or call into the SU.
One of our CECs, Eilidh, along with Richard Gill (Standards and Enhancement Department) trained 8 students to be Student Validation Panel Members. These students are now qualified to sit on future Validation Panels both in the UK and overseas. This Panel enables the University to assure the appropriateness of each programme’s academic standard and the quality of the learning opportunities for the students on the programme. The involvement of students is vital to getting a balanced opinion and also to have a real perspective of whether students would be happy with the course presented. This is a fantastic opportunity for students and will certainly stand out on their C.Vs.
We participated in the University’s Mental Health Day, organised in association with Student Minds. This year’s theme was Get Active. The SU CECs were around chatting to students and giving out keyrings with motivational, positive and inspiring quotes attached.
The Sports Awards evening was held in the SU Bar. Each team awarded trophies to their players acknowledging their hard work and commitment.
The girls Hockey Team has made it through to the Tier 5 playoffs. The girls will play Liverpool Hope in April and, if successful, will play in Tier 5 next year. Well done and good luck girls!
