This month your SU went digital and all activities are on our facebook page and the website.
We know how difficult it is for you, but we are here for you whatever the circumstances.
Ansh has been working with the university to make sure that no student is negatively impacted by COVID-19 and has given his full support to the approach adopted by the university which ensures students will not be unfairly treated in their programme due to the impact of the Coronavirus.
Ansh has also put out video messages thanking our student nurses and the NHS for their selfless help and filmed a message with the VC and Deputy VC updating students on what the university is doing to help them.
We have written an open letter to private landlords urging them to release students from their contracts early with no-penalty, and make allowances for students who cannot collect their belongings due to Public Health guidance, and provide flexibility on tenancy end dates for students who are unable to return home.
We have worked hard to create an online timetable of stay at home activities:-
Monday Motivation - So far we have covered tips to help you study, tips to learn a new skill and keep going with it, and gave you ideas on how to connect with others.
Tuesday - Book Club. We are reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. We meet through Zoom to chat about the book and anything else that crops up.
Wednesday - SU Live Chat - Ben or Rachel are live on Wednesday's at 12pm to bring you important information, chat about what they have been up to and answer any questions you have. You are able to post questions when live, but we get the majority of views later on in the day when you view it in your own time. The feedback is that you really enjoy watching.
Thursday is our Netflix Party. So far we have watched 3 films with the Bollywood Society hosting one of the parties. We watched PK - it was a great success and they are busy planning the next one.
Friday - Friday is Foodie Friday! We give you simple recipes to make at home. Who can't resist making Sheila's Mac and Cheese and Sarah's Triple Chocolate Cookies for pudding?
We launched our Digital Advice Service. You can contact us for academic, financial and accommodation advice by filling in a form on the website. Many of you have already used this service and appreciate the confidential and impartial advice.
We have been on a virtual trip to Chester Zoo with you, posted rainbows for you to print out, colour in and put in your windows and we continue to keep you updated with important information, for example details of how you can apply for a refund from your rail season tick provider.
