The opportunity: We are looking for committed volunteers with the ability to work in an empathic way to build and sustain a one-to-one partnership with individuals who have a lived experience of a mental health condition. We need befrienders to help support our service users who feel stuck, trapped and alone in their homes or those who feel unable to go out. The aim of the befriending service is to help service users restore their sense of hope, rediscover self-esteem and confidence.

About the project: Volunteers play an important role in this project, and will receive full training and induction to the service followed by ongoing support and supervision throughout their volunteering role by the Development Worker of the project. Mandatory training is required prior to undertaking a position and further training will be offered relevant to the post.
