Bolton SU is looking to recruit two Student Trustees for the 2020/21 academic year.  Our aim is to recruit one undergraduate and one postgraduate student.  This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to play a role in the leadership of an organisation that is run by students for students and has the desire to help students ‘love student life’

Role Purpose

To be an active member of the Students’ Union Trustee Board ensuring the Union works for students.


Key responsibilities

  • to help shape the direction of the Union
  • to be responsible, along with other trustees, for a charitable organisation
  • attend 4 – 6 short afternoon meetings on campus
  • attend the SU’s Annual General Meeting



 As a trustee you will have opportunities to:
•    Make a lasting impact on student life
•    Play a part in developing a member-led charitable organisation.
•    Develop your understanding of how charities, trustees and boards work
•    Improve your knowledge and your CV by working with a team of experienced individuals including other students on the Board, external trustees (who have been recruited based on their background and expertise) and the Union’s General Manager.

To support you in your role, there will be a training package that will help to develop your understanding of governance and other key areas This will develop your transferable skills and knowledge for future roles and will look great on your CV!
