The purpose of this pledge is to show that I will do whatever I can to support maintaining safe and healthy communities in which I live and learn.
I know that health and safety is a shared responsibility and that COVID-19 is a shared risk. Therefore, as a University of Bolton student – I pledge to my fellow students to:
Keep up to date on current, national and local government guidance and will frequently check the student FAQs for updates.
Follow strict personal hygiene guidelines in terms of frequent hand washing and utilising hand sanitiser when necessary.
Wear a face covering (over both my nose and mouth) whilst inside buildings on campus.
Remember that not all disabilities are seen – so someone not wearing a mask will most likely have a very valid reason.
Adhere to the one-way system that has been implemented on campus.
Respect my fellow students and University staff by abiding by the social distancing rules at all times.
Refrain from greeting my friends with physical contact such has hugs, fist pumps and handshakes.
Only come on to campus during my timetabled sessions and leave on time at the end of the session.
NOT to attend campus if I am displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, instead I will follow the current rules on isolating, take a COVID-19 test and if I have tested positive, I will notify the University and participate in the track and trace process.
In addition to the above, I pledge to my local community that I will:
Wear a face covering whilst shopping in my local community and in any other areas as required by Government guidance.
Abide by current social distancing rules whilst visiting the pub including how many people I can socialise with outside my household.
Keep to the current rules about how many people from different households I can invite to my house / garden.
Do my best to make sure those I live with understand the rules in place.
