General Elections

As a way of getting students educated as well as engaged with the General Elections Bolton Students' Union has decided it would be a good idea to have some interactive as well as informative information on what the general elections is all about and why it is important for university students to not only register to vote but also take part in voting as a whole.

A recent survey conducted by the National Union of Students (NUS) showed us that nearly 75% of students will be likely to vote in the 2015 General Election nationally. It also gave us indictations as to what topics are key issues for engaging our students in voting in May 2015.

As a result, NUS have released their own manifesto (click here) , detailing 30 key campaigning issues around the realms of education, work and community. We'll also be releasing our own policy choices around this within the coming weeks, in the ambition of creating our own 'mini-manifesto' for the Bolton South East and wider areas.

Check back here soon to see the exciting plans we've got over the next few months and how you can help us in our aim to get as many UoB students registered and voting in the 2015 General Election.

In the meantime more information on IER and how to register to vote can be found on the Bolton Council website.
