Medieval Society

The Bolton cell of the medieval living history society, Historia Normannis.

Historia Normannis is a nationwide medieval re-enactment society with local groups all over the country.

Historia Normannis take part in exciting historical and battle displays across the country, showing the public how the medieval English lived and fought. During the off-season (September to March) we learn medieval combat - using steel weapons! - and authentic medieval crafts as we prepare all our clothing and gear for the summer show season.

We are always recruiting new members who want to get involved in bringing history to life!
There's so much to get involved with - archery, leather-working, performance, calligraphy, music, smithing - all you need to bring is enthusiasm; you don't even need to know your history at first , because we can help with that!

We train at Queen's Park, Bolton every Sunday - it's free to take part, so come say hi!

Regular meetings/events: Please see the official society facebook page for details
